ABOUT ME

WHO AM I?

My name is Deya Bhattacharya, and I'm a manager turned communications consultant who's been dabbling with words for about twenty years now.

While I've always had a passion for literature and stories, fate (and my family) had other plans for me. So I went on to do a Bachelor's Degree in Economics and a Masters in Business Administration, following which I bagged a sales job at an MNC. Twenty-one months and two job switches later, I decided I'd had enough of the 9-to-5 and ventured full-time into what I'd already been doing on the side for about a year - freelance writing.

I choose to call myself a communications consultant rather than just a writer, and there's a reason why. I don't merely churn out keyword-laden articles to order - I help you decide what's the best kind of content for your business and how you can strengthen your voice as a content leader in your space. We'll be having conversations, you and I, and together we'll make sure you have not only a bunch of blog posts but a way forward.

Starting my own writing business allows me enough time to write for pleasure as well, which is great news for the zillion-and-one novel ideas swarming in my head. In my non-writing hours, I'm usually found reading literary classics, playing air guitar to 70s rock, experimenting with eyeshadow looks or rewatching the Jurassic Park movies.

Share your expectations about first drafts, daily updates, soft and hard deadlines and anything else I may need to know about how we'll be collaborating.

My rates depend on the nature and volume of work as well as the deadlines involved.

3.

I don't do free rewrites. If I've incorporated revisions and you're still not satisfied, I'll do a rewrite - for a fair fee.

4.

I'll expect payments to come along within 48 hours from when I share the invoice. And please, no ghosting - we're all professionals here. :) 

5.

While I'll do my best to accommodate urgent requirements, drastic shortening of deadlines may not work out - so please let me know in advance if something like that is likely to happen.
